Smart Visa

The Thailand Smart Visa is a long-term residence visa established by the Thai government to attract highly skilled talent, investors, and entrepreneurs, aiming to promote the development of target industries. The work category of the Smart Visa is applicable to foreigners employed by recognized enterprises in Thailand's target industries (such as digital technology, biotechnology, healthcare, robotics, aviation, etc.). Holders can legally work in Thailand without needing to apply for a separate work permit, and their spouses and children can accompany them. The visa is valid for up to 4 years and can be renewed upon expiry. Applicants must possess a high degree or extensive experience in relevant fields, and the employer must be an enterprise recognized by the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI). Specific standards are subject to the latest official announcements.

• Employed by a BOI-recognized enterprise in a target industry
• Hold a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, or have extensive work experience
• The job position offered by the employer must meet the requirements of the target industry
• Monthly salary meets the minimum standard set by Thai labor law (specific standards subject to latest official announcements)
• No criminal record
• Good health
• Applicant and accompanying family members must purchase health insurance

1. Confirm that the employer enterprise has obtained BOI recognition and relevant qualifications.
2. The employer submits an application to the BOI, including applicant information and job description.
3. After BOI approval, the applicant receives an approval letter.
4. The applicant applies for a Smart Visa at the Thai embassy or consulate in their home country using the approval letter.
5. After entering Thailand, report to the immigration office within the specified time and receive the Smart Visa sticker.
6. Accompanying family members must apply for corresponding visas at the same time.

• All non-Thai documents must be translated into Thai and notarized.
• Maintain communication with your employer during the application process to ensure complete documentation.
